The Chili Master
The path to chili mastery takes many years...
You must hone your technique, your patience, and your taste buds until the balance of heat, flavors, and textures is perfect.
The other path to chili mastery is purchasing the Chili Master 9000 from a random guy in a cloak (who might have been a cat?), which takes much less time and slightly less money. Now the only thing standing in your way is the very confusing control system made from six enigmatic control wheels - one for each chili topping - and your mastery of dropping the instruction book into a steaming pot of chili. Oops!
How to play
Thankfully, actually using the wheels is simple. Just click on each wedge of the wheel in order to set the total amount of each topping that you add. The order you select each wedge is crucial, as the wedges will also rotate each time they are clicked. Pay attention to the number of plus signs marked on each wheel and the size of each wedge, and try to only add as much of each ingredient as you need to satisfy your customers.
Depending on how you choose each wedge, you can serve either a heaping pile of each ingredient or none at all, as well as several amounts in between. No amount of the ingredient will be added until you click all four wedges of the wheel. Each ingredient can only be added once for each customer, but you don’t have to add every ingredient.
Your chili will be judged by three metrics - heat, texture, and mix-ins. Use a variety of toppings to adjust these metrics to taste.
- The beef is slightly spicy, and will also make the chili chunkier, increasing both heat and texture.
- Beans will also make the chili chunkier and provide a unique flavor, increasing both texture and mix-ins.
- Onions add dashes of flavor and kick, increasing heat and mix-ins.
- Hot sauce is for people who like it really spicy! This will increase the heat by a lot, but also decrease the texture by adding more liquid to the chili.
- On the other end, Sour cream is for people who like prefer chilly chilis. This will decrease heat by a lot and decrease the texture by making it creamier.
- Finally, cheese adds a dairy flavor to decrease heat slightly and increase the mix-in flavor.
Think carefully about which ingredients will affect which traits. It’s not always as simple as moving the bars around. For example, there’s no way to lower the mix-ins in the chili until you serve it, and heat will stay the same between bowls.
Once you’re done, click the bowl in the bottom right to serve your chili! After 2 minutes of serving, you’ll be graded based on your accuracy and your speed.
